Thank You Santa and Family, But There is One Last Gift I Want For Christmas

Outback Bowl: Wildcats Versus Tigers - It isn’t the size of the cat in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the ‘Cats.

I had a Northwestern Christmas this year. I got a 2010 Outback Bowl t-shirt, a Northwestern University Football polo, and a current NU Fencing t-shirt. (I was a varsity fencer at NU, so I “earned” this one and still have a scar to prove it. I’ll explain later.) I also got a NU mini-pennant, a string of NU party lights, a NU license plate frame (to go with the NU tags on my car), and a NU 3x5 flag. I plan on joining the “N” flag project at LakeThePosts.

All this loot gets added to my one of a kind, customized My Little Pony™ in a Northwestern University Cheerleader outfit. It is a work of art that was custom designed and sculpted by a family member. I’ll post a photo soon. You’ve *got* to see this thing.

As it says in my profile, I bleed purple.

While I enjoyed my purple Christmas, there is one last thing on my list - a New Year’s Day victory over Auburn. I want to see Northwestern football accomplish something it hasn’t done since 1949 - win a bowl game. Please…

On a different note - here’s a “Shout Out” to Acid Reign, one of the bloggers at TrackemTigers.com. We’ve had a couple of nice emails and found out that we sort of crossed paths in our lives. Acid Reign started out near Evanston (and NU) and wound up at Auburn. I started out (sort of) close to Auburn and wound up at Northwestern. Each of us has some familiarity with the other’s campus. As noted earlier, I grew up as an Auburn fan. To Acid Reign and the other bloggers at TrackemTigers - “War Eagle” - except for your next game. :-)

Go ‘Cats!
